It is a good place to take pictures of the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is actually not open very often. I was surprised to see people surfing on Lake Michigan on a 12F day.

Often we have seen this place open for public tours 2-3 times per year and there are plenty of us who enjoy visiting lighthouses! The grounds are kept very well and there is easy access.

A very well preserved lighthouse and out buildings. Nothing was open--only special days for that. However the gardens, structures and information available was interesting. Peaceful place to just sit in the garden and enjoy the water and waves.
