It was okay. Thought it was a little congested. There was a lot to look at, but the building seemed to small for it all. Should have some items more protected from the elements and dust. Kids got bored 1/2 way. Surprised they didn't have ano engine, caboose or passenger to tour. Would have been a nice addition. The old... More

Arrived in October and found it to be closed. Spooner was a railroad town back in the day and the Museum was the depot on the Chicago, St Paul, Minneapolis, and Omaha line. City owns the roundhouse and turntable next door. Preserved but not showable. Ralfan interest only. General public - not a big attraction. Go see it in conjunction... More

We arrived just as they were closing. They welcomed us in anyways and told us to take our time going through their very extensive collection of train artifacts. Very well done and LOTS of items and history to enjoy. Staff offered some insight to some of the items. Very interesting. If you are a train buff you owe yourself to... More

My husband and I truly enjoyed our visit to the Railroad Memories Museum in Spooner. It was full of surprises and the tour by staff members very interesting. Sometimes small town museums such as this are so much more than you expect and this was the case at Railroad Memories!

The guide was very informative about the History of the Railroad. Lots of things to look at and get a history lesson of the railroads. Pictures, tools, equipment, memorabilia quite a collection of if you like the railroad!

Wow! So much to look at! The amount of memorabilia surprised us for a small local museum. Well worth your time; allow more than you think you will need.

Really enjoyed our visit to this historic attraction. Spent a good share of an afternoon there. There is lots and lots of old Railroad memorabilia, a guided tour, much of the original depot has been preserved.

The Railroad Memories Museum is housed in what remains of the Spooner Chicago and Northwestern Depot. At one time this station was 13 rooms including a restaurant, plus a roundhouse on the other side of the right-of-way. 22 trains per day came through here. Now, the station is packed with all kinds of memorabilia, including equipment, tools, seats, uniforms and... More
