The entire trail is a bit of a hidden gem. The path is well maintained, the scenic beauty is fantastic and the reward at the end is quite impressive. The only downside is the posting along the path, in not so many words, reminding us...More

A totally unassuming entrance, with a gravel parking lot. The trail started mild, going over boardwalks through a mushy area in a thick woods. The woods just kept getting prettier and then the gorge started. Really cool going along the trail. The walk just kept...More

This is a hidden gem! So unexpected to see this deep gorge near the lake. Unfortunately there was so little water that there was not a waterfall but it was still breathtaking and not to be missed!

Nice, shorter hike in the woods down to the lake. Cool little river cuts into the various rock making the river place meander and exposes variations in the rock layers. Out and back hike with great views on lake superior as a half-way treat.

I used to walk this path "back in the day" when it was just a muddy trail used by Northland College Students. Now, the trail and some of the surrounding land is cared for by the Bayfield Regional Conservancy who has done an incredible job...More

Great easy hike through wonderful northern Wisconsin woodlands, this is a hike for the entire family. Loved the waterfall at the end and the interesting and varied plant life along the way. There were tons of wildflowers in early August.
