This beach is only one of five beaches with smooth stones as beach! Stones are so different from any other beach that we've been to! Rocks have a smooth, soft feel to them! Thankfully there's a hefty fine for anyone that wants to take any...More

This is a small beach with unique rocks, but really rocky and with strong waves. I would not recommend young children swimming in there, unless if the day we visited was an unusually windy day. The temperature in July was 66 degrees and not beach...More

We didn't go to the island for this, but we're very glad we drove to the beach. While the area is relatively small, a beach completely made of absolutely polished, smooth stones is a sight to be seen. Beyond that, the entire bay is so...More

Definitely a different kind of beach. The rocks are super smooth, so don't think it's just a gravel beach. Water was clear and easy to see the rocks in the water. I found it a little difficult to walk on in water sandals, but that...More

Clean, beautiful! Try to get there by noon, to avoid waiting in long lines for ferries and to avoid a overcrowded beach. Water was just the right temperature for early July. Restrooms and changing rooms are available.

Was a neat experience. The beach is rock so brink your flip flops. The view and rocks are beautiful. The added bonus is the shade provided by the forest along the beach so you don't have to worry about a tent or umbrella. The bathroom...More

Really nice limestone beach that is 1 of a few worldwide as my wife had told me. Clear water, smooth rounded rocks, easy to walk on and sit on. There were many swimmers, families, rock skippers there on our trip. We didn't stay lomg, since...More

I just love coming to this beach. We've been to the island six times and every one included a stop here. The waves crashing, the clear water, the stone beach, it's all very beautiful. I keep a picture at work of this place for when...More

We stopped on a warm day in July and the beach was packed. The water is crystal clear and there is a small dock not far off shore you can swim out to if you want or you can just hang out on the beach...More

Located on the north end of Washington Island, this is a public park with facilities for picnics and bathrooms. The draw is the horseshoe harbor with a white stone "beach." Water is crystal clear and cool. Parking is a little erratic.

Schoolhouse beach is a part of Washington Island and can be reached by ferry or a private boat. The rocks on the beach are soft and round like little bread loaves and is one of the few places in the world where the beach is... More

We are south of Green Bay and the colors are just starting to come out on some of the trees. The east skyline was gorgeous last night with a deep blue sky and some of the trees showing color.

Sure enough, ha, that's a flaw in the Trip Advisor page. Just Google it and you'll find where it is on Washington Island, which is off the northern end of Door County, WI. Note: A ferry ride is required to get out to... More
