The R&GN is a 15-inch gauge railway living museum offering fun for young and old. Ride our live coal fired steam trains along a 3 mile roadbed winding through scenic canyons, beautiful wooded areas, and majestic rock cuts beside the Dells of the Wisconsin River. Watch the locomotive being turned on a hand operated turntable at Western Springs, and turned again at the final stop at the Hyde Park depot. Before or after your ride, enjoy a picnic with your family, visit our exhibits and stop by our Museum Store with your children for a wide selection of railroad and museum memorabilia, books and magazines, videos and music, hats and clothing for children and adults, and of course Thomas the Train Products™.

Great for all ages! The train goes through a little canyon and it's a very pleasant view. Steam engine trains were very cool. My toddler absolutely loved the train and the experience. We will be back next year!

Who doesn't like trains or taking a train ride on a scale model train? Take a ride pulled by a classic steam engine. Smell the smoke from burning coal. Hear the whistle blow. Get a little history lesson while they turn the engine on a...More

because of the kids, so we go there to take the steam train, the ride is not too long, and nothing special scenery to see along the train ride, when it goes to the other end, the passengers are needed to get off and listen...More

I think it's $12 for an adult admission. Kids under a certain age are free. There is a BOGO coupon for this in the Dells coupon book and I think it's also part of the splash pass. I don't mind the price too much though as... More
