A beautiful drive with tons of hiking drop points, camping, or just day use areas. The mountains majestically show themselves, and if lucky, you can see some wildlife. Well worth the drive and stopping at several spots. You could spend weeks here and not be...More

We were in Buffalo for Longmire Days, in July 2017. We road tripped our way up there from Arizona and arrived a few days early to take advantage of the what the surrounding Bighorn Mountains had to offer. It turns out-a lot!! We took this...More

A very beautiful road on our way to Yellowstone. The landscape is amazing even if it is hazy. We saw plenty of wildlife too.

We have a motor home and driving this curvy road can be scary but worth it. Majestic hillsides, long downhill slopes beautiful meadows and streams make for a memorable road

This drive is gorgeous!! Ten Sleep Canyon was incredible with the beautiful layers of rock! We saw several groups of climbers, and were able to pull off the road in many areas for pictures and to read the scenic information. Highly recommend!

What a gorgeous drive along Hwy 16 into Buffalo. I could t get over the density of the forest and we stopped so many times just to look and breathe it all in

A drive through the Bighorn National Forest is not to be missed! This is one of the most beautiful mountain areas we've ever visited, and the drive rivals California's famous Highway 1 on the Central Coast. We drove from Buffalo to Ten Sleep (check out...More

This is a scenic route and also a safer route for heading over the mountains to Yellowstone. Take a picnic lunch with you and stop off at Meadowlark Lake. The canyon down the west side is beautiful.

Spectacular views! One of the best drivers anywhere. We drove from Buffalo to Ten Sleep. On the way back went down Crazy Woman Canyon. Not to be missed! Single lane dirt road. Not for trailers or motor homes. Highlight of the trip!

We drove highway 16 pulling a 5th wheel camper. It was a beautiful drive with lots of animal sightings. Wouldn't recommend pulling a camper over it unless you have a good strong pickup.

Either way is beautiful. If you are driving a motor home I think they say that the route from Buffalo is better but in a car either is fine. Sheridan is a bigger town so if you need a Walmart or big grocery store stop you... More

It's the intersection of Highway 16 and County Road 33. I believe there is a sign "Crazy Woman Canyon." Very easy to find. Google "crazy woman canyon road" to see a map.
