This is a rest area but offers so much more. Don't pass up this location on your travels. There are several informative plaques as well as a statue of Presiden Lincoln. Inside, on certain days, there are pamphlets and maps. There is a large parking...More

Nice highway between Cheyenne and Lincoln Pass (Monument). More relaxing than the interstate (lots of semi's on the interstate), beautiful open spaces. And you'll pass through the north end of Videvoo (Rock City). Captivating! Watch out for wildlife (deer, moose, etc.)

Diverted to this road on our trip from Chadron, Nebraska to Denver. I am so glad we took it, it was a break from the freeway roads, and saw much beautiful sites.

We took Highway State #210, Happy Jack Road, when I-80 was closed due to a wreck. Excellent road, lightly traveled, and you see some nice Wyoming countryside.

As always, when on vacation, I try and take back roads to get away from the freeways. It’s a way for me to unplug, enjoy the country side, slow down, take in the sights and explore America away from the highway. Happy Jack Road from...More

Drove to Laramie, WY and back on Happy Jack Rd. No wild pressure from I80. Comfortable and scenic. Took some back country forest roads and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not a lot of pressure from people. Great day or half day trip.

There is a major highway between Cheyenne and Laramie, but this alternate route, which is a good road with little traffic that takes one thru farmland, is more fun.

Definitely worth driving as it doesn't add much time between Cheyenne and Laramie. Unless you stop often to look at the breathtaking views that accompany this drive. You will see herds of cows and probably antelope (we did). We didn't see one but a moose...More

After visiting the Big Boy Steam Engine in Cheyenne we took Happy Jack on the way to Laramie. This is a very scenic side road that parallels I-80 but makes you feel worlds away -- the traffic is less intense and gives you time to...More

I love the curvy road and the access to the state park. A much prettier and safer drive to Larimie from Cheyenne.

Go East on I80 to the rest area that has the Lincoln monument. Exit there. When you come to a y in the road to go right to the rest area, go left. This is Happy jack road. It will also say Curt Gowdy Reservoir.
