Signed up to do the tour and realized we could not attend and they promptly refunded our money. We went into gift shop and asked if we could taste some of the honey and they gathered another group and gave us a tasting. They were absolutely fantastic in their description of each honey and we left after having spent hundreds of dollars on their products. Would strongly recommend visiting their gift shop after any tour of the Cook monument as it is two minutes away from launch site. Honey is delicious.

We just saw this place as we were driving around. We didn't have a tour scheduled but they were still extremely friendly and welcoming. They invited us to have a seat and gave us samples of their different honeys. They were amazing! We bought large jars of macadamia blossom honey and Ohia Lehua blossom honey. They offered significantly discounted shipping or even free shipping with a $100 purchase...so we added another jar! It was nice to have that amazing honey shipped right to our door. I'm enjoying nearly everyday!
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Next time we will take the tour!

These people really love bees. We learned more than we can remember. We tasted several flavors of honey. A maser bee keeper showed the inside of a working hive. We observed the 'nursery" and the Queen. A place to see on the way to or from the painted church

We enjoyed our tour of the hives and the information we learned along the way. My husband, who is incredibly scared of bees, was relaxed the entire time. The bees were very chill. While one person called the bee keeper snarky in a previous post - I thought he was funny. I'm from the east coast so I easily get that sense of humor. It lightened the mood and made the bees more approachable.

The honey tasting was fun and we purchased some to bring home. We used the time in the area by also taking a private tour of Greenwell farms and visiting Pu'Uhonua O Honaunau National Park. This made for a full day in the area and a good use of our driving time from Waikoloa/Waimea area

Aloha, Toni, and thank you for visiting and taking the time to write such a marvelous review. We appreciate it very much, as will our staff, especially Joe. It is good to hear your husband was relaxed about our bees. We are always gratified to learn that our venue helps some visitors reduce their fear of bees. We hope you will enjoy your honey and will come to see us again on your next trip to the Big Island. Mahalo, Phil

We got there a little late and joined the group as our tour guide, Joe, taught us about bee keeping and how bees benefit the planet. It was a drive from Kailua-Kona but well worth the time and effort to find this place. Joe was absolutely knowledgeable and beyond entertaining. We told him that he should consider stand-up as a second job as he was extremely funny as well!

Amazing honey! We were greeted by a refreshing cool drink and super yummy macadamia nut honey tart. The tour was very informative and we loved trying all the creamy samples! Our guide, shown in picture, was very knowledgeable and entertaining as he explained the beekeeping process. We enjoyed the information which gave us a new appreciation for honey production. We enjoyed shopping in the cute store afterwards. Free shipping over a certain amount helped us get all we wanted without having to worry about airport restrictions on sizes.

We didn't do the tour but stopped by the shop for tasting and, oh my goodness. The mac nut honey is life-changing. We didn't buy the huge glass jar, instead opting for a few small ones. We have already decided on our next trip to BI we are getting the big jar and shipping it home. SO good

The man working there was nice and knowledgeable and we also appreciated getting to pet Stella the dog while on vacation away from our own. Even if you don't have time for a full tour, stop here and buy honey. You'll be glad you did.

Wish we had been there for the tour, but even without it it was awesome. We got free samples of a ton of honey, and the lady there in the museum/gift shop was super informative and friendly. This was something we never would have done except for the Shaka Guide on iTunes we were using. Loved it! Brought honey home and will dip into it tomorrow!
