The large gold statue that you see as soon as you drive into the park of of King Kamehameha. You will often see colorful leis around his neck to show the love and respect of the Hawaiian people for this former monarch of theirs. The grounds are beautiful to walk around and the round building located close by often has... More

A beautiful park not living up to its potential. A result of bad management- they even foolishly defaced their own responsibility- painted the trees. Other criminal activity not controlled well.

Nice place to visit and relax in Hilo. Only problem is mosquitos. Bring your mosquito repellent because they love visitor's blood better than the locals'.

Every visit to Hilo isn't complete without a stop to the King Kamehameha statue, just to be polite & ask his blessing for landing on his island. The rest of the park is beautiful with some very unique bridges, There's always some Ducks & Nene around, always nice watch them

This is a very nice park, full of bridges and beautiful trees, and very scenic. It also has one of Hawaii's four King Kamehameha statues which is definitely worth seeing. However, there is little to do in this park for more than an hour.

My husband and I explored this area during our honeymoon. We enjoyed the views and short walks to Rainbow Falls and Boiling Pots. We saw a huge banyan tree at Rainbow Falls. We would definitely return as this attraction was free and had amazing scenery. We highly recommend!

I have been goin tonwailoa state park all my life. This park is genuine and serene in jt own way. You have parts of the park that are frequently visited by people, then there are spots that only a few people know of. Theres restrooms, and 3 different sized pavillions in which you can rent for parties and such. Got... More

We stopped here briefly on a hoppa on hoppa off bus tour. One could easily spend more time just relaxing in this park and going for a leisurely stroll. The statue of the King is a nice photo op.

Nothing much here but the King Kamehemeha statue/monument. Sure the park is ok, but not worth spending much time in. Plus, this is the home of Hilo's version of the "occupy" movement. The corner of leading into the park is flanked with banners and signs preaching the gospel and anti-gay rhetoric, along with the protect our Hawaiian land slogans. We... More
