Liliuokalani Gardens don't appear to be gardens at all. It's just a park with some little cement bridges and a few Japanese lanterns thrown in. There's also a tea house. But there are no gardens there... just a lot of grass and some trees. I'm...More

Walk through this Japanese Garden and bring the camera. From the Okinawan dragon boats to the bridges and the banyans, this garden is worth a visit every time.

Although slightly flooded, this is actually more of a park. The special plants are the trees! Definately go for Banyan tree and, across the park, the Monkeypod Tree.

Very relaxing vibe about the place. Trees are lovely, view of hilo is lovely. The ponds don't look very healthy, could use some cleaning or filtering

Lovely and peaceful still through a Japanese garden. Open and park like. Right on Hilo bay. This town is so rich in parks

This is a large and very well developed park. There are lots of large Banyan trees on the property along with nice paths and some little bridges over fish ponds. The garden is obviously Japanese in nature due to style of architecture used. It was...More

With huge Banyans blocking the sights and sounds of the busy road nearby, this serene garden is a beautiful and tranquil way to spend the morning. Sit on a bench under the banyan in the middle of the park, walk over the arched bridge, or...More

You will need to check with the County of Hawaii to see if you can book a pavilion at the Liliuokalani Gardens.
