This park is well maintained and has lots of walking paths. It is near the two large hotels on Banyan Drive, gets tour buses and lots of visitors, but never feels crowded. Parking is free.

I stayed at the doubletree right by these gardens so it was a little walk over to these pretty, well kept gardens in Hilo. Japanese landscaping was lovely.

This Japanese garden is right along the waterfront with free parking. You can see the sea wall and watch the cruise ships or sit in the pagodas and people watch.

You will need to check with the County of Hawaii to see if you can book a pavilion at the Liliuokalani Gardens.
