Visited last week with my family, and the sight of whales jumping out of the water several times was incredible. We only saw two whales but those whales put on a show that we will never forget. The Captain gave us some great insight into the whales as well. The crew was great, especially the younger lady from Washington. She... More

This was our third time with this company. This is a 2-3 hour boat ride. We left a little before 8am. It took about 45 minutes to get to where the whales were. We saw just two humpback whales on December 26th. But got to see them three times twice up close. We also saw bottle nose and spinner dolphins.... More

Captain Dan. McSweeney's whale watching adventures was a highlight of the trip to Kona, we arrived at 7 AM and headed out. 15 minutes into tour that we were blessed by the scenes of humpback whales. Captain McSweeney was very informative about the migration and the actual lifestyle of the humpback whales. He has been doing this for over 40... More

This was my birthday adventure and I was so excited about this trip. Wheather was nice, ocean was gorgeous as always (I love the ocean here in Hawaii), we saw hawaiian spinner dolphins, but we did not see whales. This review is not a complaint, I respect the Captain and his knowledge and I know that we need some luck... More

We went on the 11am trip and saw about 10 sightings. We received snacks and fresh fruit along with juice and water. We got an amazing history lesson because Captain Dan has been studying whales for 40 years and taught us facts about the whales and answered all questions. It is definitely a trip worth taking and the views were... More

We have been on multiple excursions similar to this while vacationing. We were very impressed with Captain Dan and his crew. What I appreciate the most is that Captain Dan truly loves these whales! The crew is very knowledgable and attentive. The boat is the perfect size for a whale watching experience. I would highly recommend Captain Dan!

My wife, brother-in-law, and I had a wonderful morning whale watching. Yes, we had to get up early to make the 7:00 AM departure time, but it was well worth it. Well worth the price too. (The only mistake I made was I forgot to mention that I found him on Yelp, to get my discount--but never mind) We saw... More

We were so happy that we chose Captain Dan McSweeney's Whale Watching Adventures to see humpback whales close up. The boat was very comfortable for our 3 hours on the water. We were at the max with 34 passengers and it did not feel crowded. I think everyone had good viewing, we were on the top deck and certainly did.... More

It was a nice experience. It was whale watching in stead of whale chasing. He knows the behaviour of whales, he loves whales and that's what you get.

We went out on 01/16/17 at 7:00 a.m. and saw ZERO whales. He gave us a voucher to go again. We went the next day 01/17/17 at 7:00 a.m. We saw 1 mother whale and one baby. The baby whale breached two times. They provide overripe bananas and other fruit to eat, and something to drink. Overall, it was a... More
