Nice waves for surfers. Small waves for boogies. No waves for swimming kids to jump in. Mostly locals hanging out, camping with family.

Visited this park at 4:30 AM to get the Lava Boat Tour. Almost Nil lighting. Washrooms were awful. Only 1 women's washroom in working order and a different washroom with toilet paper. All other washrooms had plugged toilets. Floors were soaked. Women's underwear on the floor. Lights went out in washrooms before our tour. This is a State Park?

The park is somewhat remote. The park has a play ground for the children. Also you have at least one rocky beach with a good swimming section a showers to rinse off after your swim. We saw several surfers. First time ever we saw 3 large whales from the beach... we have never seen them on this side of the... More

There was some cool art on various concrete barriers/walls (not graffiti, actual intentional art) and a couple of tiki statues at one point near the water. There's a lot of parking and various park facilities (pavilions etc) and it's also used as a boat ramp. We didn't go swimming here but saw a lot of people doing various types of... More

Nice swimming spot because it's warm from thermal vents, but watch for boats (they have no patience for swimmers). Also excellent snorkeling/scuba here

We were here waiting for our boat for a lava tour so we didn't really explore the park. Well my wife and her two sisters did but us guys just stayed by the car waiting for the tour company. The road leading up to the park was amazed no however. Had bathroom facilities and right in the ocean.

Isaac Hale Beach Park is popularly known as Pohoiki (poho - eeky). It has the only boat ramp in the district, servicing the local fishermen as well as the boats that take folks down the coast to view the lava. There are several surf breaks, varying from fairly mellow to perilously crazy. Most of the time there is a strong... More

My wife and I went for an afternoon drive. For a Thursday afternoon, the park was very busy. Water was nice and clear, though we didn't go in. We Grabbed a milkshake from the ice cream truck and continued on our cruise!
