It was very windy the day of our visit; however, the beach drops down to the water providing some protection. The water was great for snorkeling and lounging in the water. Some shade is provided. Recommend this beach for a quiet day.

The speech was relatively easy to get to and had uncovered parking. Far-right or west side of the beach had a lifeguard. There was some Shelter From the surf at the edges and a rather generous crossword. Coral was not abundant but there were interesting reef fish period not crowded. Well we were there a Hawaiian monk seal swim past... More

Salt Pond Beach Park is located on the southern tip of Kauai near the town of Eleele. It is also located right next to the small Port Allen airport and is about 20 miles southwest of the main international airport at Lihue. This park has a protected swimming beach and a larger beach that is partially protected from the ocean.... More

We heard a lot about this beach so we decided to go check it out. It was not crowded at all. It was a great place to swim you are protected by a reef so the waves never get to big. There are palm trees around for shade but an umbrella is also a good idea. They have grills and... More

Last year this became our favorite beach, lot better chance of sun in the winter months, protected area for snorkeling with lots of fish. Remember to take rings off before snorkeling as high chance of them falling off during snorkeling, we saw 1 guy spend an hour looking for his.

Last time I was at this beach, drove up and saw a bunch of homeless people using the beach as a bathroom. We didn't feel comfortable do we left ... somehow walking on a beach that's been used as a bathroom doesn't seem enjoyable...

Very crowded beach with hard to find parking and we really weren't impressed compared to a lot of pretty Kauai beaches. Local beach full of large groups of people who were picnicking and partying too. Could be ok if you are in the mood for that we just weren't as we are more the less crowded beach types. Just really... More

This beach has facilities and covered picnic areas. Great for swimming since the cove is protected by a reef. Good snorkling. Nice sandy beach with tiny shells....first shells I have seen in Kauai. Plenty of parking, easy to access. Will definitely return here.
