Of all the used bookstores I've visited his place is the best! They have a lot of old, rare books as well as newer titles. Honestly there's something here for everyone (e.g. Comics, vinyl, sheet music, and any genre you can think of). They will ship books to your location as well. Their graphic novel section is a little slim... More

We make the trip from Princeville to the Talk Story Bookstore every trip to Kauai. You could spend hours there. There is a vast selection of new and used books to chose from. I especially enjoy the selection of books on the history of Kauai. The clerk was very friendly and helpful.

Independent bookstores are getting rare. Heck, even I use my Kindle to read. However, what's better than being on vacation, sitting in a coffee shop, or on a beach or on a condo deck and opening a real book?. ...Ahhh..... If you are in Kauai, the best place to get a real book is Talk Story Bookstore which is in... More

I was able to find 4 uniquely Hawaiian books including one out of print book. Owners know inventory without looking in computer and we're very helpful.

This was one of the reasons we stopped in Hanapepe. We had heard about this store and it did not disappoint. They have a wide selection of books on all kinds of topics. If you love reading from a real book, stop in here and find your next one. The prices were reasonable as well. Friendly staff too!

The people at the "westernmost bookstore in the US" could not have been more friendly or helpful! What a cool place! The icing on the cake was they were having a book signing and the author was delightful. Definitely a must for all book lovers.

This award-winning bookstore is full of new and used gems... and the ambience is warm, welcoming and informed. It is easy to spend a few hours browsing the floor to ceiling shelves... and the couple that runs/owns it are so friendly and helpful. I would go back in a heartbeat. Loved this bookstore.

We stopped off at Talk Story after a morning of driving from Princeville. In honesty, one of our goals for the trip was to visit this westernmost book shop. Our visit did not disappoint. We spent way more time than we had planned to spend. The owners were wonderful people who made great recommendations. I may have even found a... More

Advertised as the farthest west bookstore and a unique one it is. A huge selection of books in this crammed full shop. We always find something of interest here with a mixture of new and used books. Always fascinating children's selection. I found two novels by favorite authors that were in perfect condition but sold as used. Also found a... More

This is a great little bookshop. It's a bit quirky but not in a bad way, If you have cat allergies, be aware that there is one on the premises. The old main street of Hanapepe is worth visiting, for a view of what the island was like years ago.
