Enjoyable way to see the coast and marine life

Small (6 max) double hull boat. Just right for 6 people. We got great views of the Napali coast up close and personal. Water was a bit to rough for snorkelling but we saw lots of whales and turtles. Great views of the coast and mountains. The Captain narrated and gave us some interesting info about the area and its... More

We have cruised the Na Pali coast 6 times now. Big boats, zodiac rubber rafts, snorkel catamarans, sunset cruises, etc. This is BY FAR the best cruise! Small boat that can hug the coast and Captain Makai catered to whatever we wanted to do. It was too rough to go into the sea cave, but he got right up next... More

I set up a private charter with Captain Makai to see the Na Pali Coast at sunset. We were able to charter his new catamaran. We happen to be there on the tail end of hurricane Madelaine and Lester. The water was a little rough, but the scenery was so beautiful and being with my boyfriend and best friends made... More

Great experience with 2 adults and 4 kids. Was a little worried about the ride being rough but the boat (and Captain) handled it well. Captain Makai was great, very accommodating and had a good history of what we were doing. At one point we went to the main snorkeling area where all the other boats were. Makai thought it... More

My family with two kids (8 and 10) had a fantastic tour with Captain Makai. We shared the tour with a really great couple from Germany who we met up during the tour. Captain Makai is chilled out Hawaiian style and makes you feel totally at home. He called us the previous evening to let us know that we would... More

Captain Makai mostly does trips in the summer as his boat is smaller and less suitable for rough seas. So it took some coordination to get a right weather in March. But it was worth it. Having a boat for ourselves made all the difference. There are plenty of larger catamarans and Zodiac boats which pack 20-30 people but very... More

Makai was an excellent guide, host and captain -- we were blessed with a rare day of moderate ocean conditions, sun and terrific sights! Swam with spinner dolphins, saw many interesting sights and enjoyed the history of this beautiful area courtesy of our guide who grew up here. I can't encourage this trip more -- a must do if the... We found Captain Makai through reviews from tripadvisor and decided to book a private charter for my husband and I. We have done the Napali Coast on a raft the year before but we wanted to go back again and spend more time doing what we wanted to do! WE ABSOLUTELY HAD A GREAT TIME! The service was great, perfect... More

Despite getting ready to close for the season they agreed to take us out for a day along the coast It was incredible. We came upon a... More

Camped for 30 days all over the island and the Napali Coast was the least crowded but incredibly hot during the summer. Just down from the PMRF and way off the normal trails (roads are rough and the rental folks will tell you not to take their cars down there) so make sure you get a vehicle that is off-road... More
