We always come here. You get to see up close many varieties of seabirds that you will never see at home. The volunteers are outstanding, as are the rangers who run the place. Don't rush the visit. Bring sunscreen, shade hats, binoculars and curiosity.

Yes, lighthouses are ALWAYS great attractions. Yes, I have visited fifty lighthouses on both coasts, the Great Lakes (most of the best) and abroad. This one has stunning views. Period. Access to the lens and light are quite limited but it's all about the view......More

This is a very beautiful place with all the wild birds. Take the time to ask one of the volunteers to point out all the different kinds. The lighthouse is great also.

Always a great stop with friends, a group of tourists or just a nice picnic day. In the spring the males mix with females more, witness the miracles in the sky.

This was our 10th visit to Kauai and our 10th stop at the lighthouse. The view is amazing! There is a BIG variety of birds with signage telling all about them. Inside the lighthouse is a small museum about the history of the point. BUT,...More

Cheap to get in $5 each but bring cash. It’s educational and scenic just wish you could actually get into the lighthouse.

On the surface, this sounds boring....but the views are real nice and worth the stop. It costs $5 per person to enter the park and there is a small but ample parking lot. Drive to the end of the road and turn left into the...More

Go on Tuesday-Saturday as the gates are closed Sun-Mon. Beautiful area featuring many birds dotting the hillside and the Kilauea Lighthouse. A definite place to go while visiting Kauai!

Let me change that answer. That is for the Kilauea Lighthouse. The wildlife refuge isn't really a place you go into. It defines an area around the lighthouse. So it is always open to the birds, and you can come anytime... More
