Built in the 1930's, Kilohana Plantation is a historic landmark and premier visitor attraction offering visitors and locals a glimpse into Kauai's past combined with assorted island-style activities, dining and shopping. Ride on our Kauai Plantation Railway, winding its way through the plantation's working farms and orchards. Learn about Kauai's history, enjoy the beautiful views and stop to feed the pigs! Take the afternoon to stroll the grounds and explore the 16,000 sq. foot plantation home. Stop in at Koloa Rum Co. for a rum tasting or for a full "Rum & Dining Experience." Visit the various artisan shops located around the grounds and both upstairs and downstairs in the home. Established in 1986, Gaylord's restaurant is a Kauai tradition. Set in the courtyard of the estate, it offers fresh, island-inspired food and beverages for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. Make lunch a part of your fun afternoon on the estate or make reservations for a romantic dinner. Memorable by day, unforgettable by night. Or check out Happy Hour in the new Mahiko Lounge. Luau Kalamaku is Kauai's only theatrical luau telling the story of the original Tahitian voyage to the Hawaiian islands. An interactive experience, it offers all the exciting luau features including an imu ceremony, torch lighting, Polynesian knife dance and of course traditional music & hula. Choose one or all of the features that Kilohana Plantation has to offer. Open daily, you'll love the chance to see a piece of Kauai's history while experiencing the best of the island today!

Great rum tasting by Kale. Friendly and knowledgeable. Every half hour free tasting of several different flavors of rum . Just a little taste to whet your pallet. Even as a non drinker I enjoyed it.

We had several Luau's to choose from and decided to try this one. We feel we hit the jackpot, as the drinks, meal and show was "top shelf". The staff were very professional and extremely helpful. We highly recommend this one and assure you'll be very happy.

We did the rum tasting and Lu'au. Both were great. The Lu'au had local crafters present selling their creations. The dancing was done in the form of a story and it reminded me of Cirque du Soleil.

We tried rum tasting for the first time and it was fun. We really liked some of the Koala Rums and brought some home.

Visiting the plantation was a nice way to spend an afternoon. Took the train ride to see the estate but I suspect the crops and vegetation would be at its height during other times of the year. Check train ride times to ensure you are able to see the other places on the plantation. The Koloa rum tasting place was... More

The shops and building are quite fascinating. However, the train ride round the plantation is a must. Most interesting views of a wide range of crops now being grown, together with the trees and snimals

We went to the Plantation to have lunch at Gaylord's as we heard it is a fine restaurant. Wow! We did have lunch but ended up spending more than half a day exploring the beautiful grounds and shops of this wonderful estate. First the restaurant; we both had the fish tacos and they were excellent. The entire lunch was nicely... More

The dinner at Gaylord's was first class, excellent service and employees. The walk to the Luau was romantic with the Luau members escorting with a torch lit walk. The show was fantastic and the story line gave a view into the Hawaiian culture. The cast was friendly after the show and the picture taking opportunities a great way to remember... More

Our first luau but think it must be the best on the island. We toured the grounds and shops. Checked out Gaylord's then took the train ride and all was amazing. When we went to the luau area the atmosphere was just really great and puts you in the festive mood. The show was better than we even imagined. All... More

My wife and I make it a MUST DO on our frequent trips to Kauai...the food and service are outstanding ( my wife is gluten and garlic free.) The restaurant ALWAYS prepares her food to perfection. We have never had a bad or even marginal meal there. To TOP IT OFF, Hank Curtis at the MahiKo Lounge is the best... More
