The website is misleading on what you will see. Some of the buildings were interesting but the docent spent too much time giving out minor tidbits that were of no interest. She also found it difficult to answer questions that were asked. The website said...More

We took the 10am tour of the house and grounds. Our tour guide was very informative and did his best to answer any and all questions that we might have. The sugar 'cookies' that everyone talks about were not really cookies in my opinion. They...More

When we drove up for our reserved walking tour our 12 year old daughter just rolled her eyes but when we left two hours later she was grinning and babbling about all the things she saw. It didn't hurt that the plantation is home to...More

What a great experience! Our guide(David-I think) was entertaining and very knowledgeable of the family's history, the impact on Kauai, and of the sugar industry on the islands. The beauty of collections, people who loved the family, and the beautiful grounds is worth the time...More

This is a trip back in time, back to nature to see how locals lived in a by gone era. Fun stop off the beaten path. Lush plants and landscaping that is stunning. Houses to tour and history to be learned.

This was one of the highlights of my recent trip to Kauai but I am a history nut and kids and those not interested in history will find it boring. Docent led tours a couple of times a day. Call for reservations. Well preserved facility...More

The Grove Farm Museum flies under the radar. It is tremendously interesting. The Plantation House is incredible with unbelievable artifacts. The Plantation was inhabited by the Wilcox family since the mid-1850's before being turned into a museum. Its a time capsule of sugar plantation life....More
