This museum is nicely laid out and has a very good selection of exhibits. We got a nice talk about the museum at the beginning which was the highlight of the visit. There is a focus on the native population. Well worth a visit.

Well, having never been conquered by Kamehameha, the focus on Kaua'i is definitely different than similar places would be on Maui and O'ahu. Very interesting to put it in this context, and we learned a lot. LOTS of ancient artifacts - ones we've never seen...More

Best place to learn about the Hawaiian culture and the historical importance of this island. Kauai is amazing as its the oldest and best island for flora and fauna.

I have never heard of a "lazy river" on Kauai, especially near the museum, it is in the middle of Lihue town.

Older kids yes, but really its a quiet subdued museum, and fairly small. I think kids would be bored and you would be busy keeping them from getting into things. Good luck
