Interesting learning experience.

A small but extensive collection of the history of Kauai. Full of information and the staff is very informative. Don't come too late so you have time for the video.

We were glad we took the time to spend a couple of hours here to learn more about the history of Hawaii and now feel more informed. Do allow enough time however to take in all of the displays and the video which was very educational. Staff member in the gift shop was particularly helpful explaining the the difficult and... More

Could not pay me to return. Filled with crap of little historic significance. Videos showing were propaganda against white people. Facility is racist.

Interesting history of the island. A bit pricey for the size, but time well spent on a rainy afternoon.

The museum is an excellent place to learn about the history of the island--especially if you need something to do while it's raining. Very nice folks work there. Mostly a self-guided experience. There are two buildings. The first contains the history of the people of the island through artifacts. What natives used, how, and why. Very well done. There is... More

Kauai Museum has informative displays that explain the history of Kauai and the other Hawaiian islands. There are two buildings that you can get through in a couple of hours. We took longer to really spend time at each exhibit. Don't pass up the posters of movies made in Kauai! The gift shop has books that are hard to find... More

Located in the heart of Kauai's government district off Rice Street in Lihue, the Kauai Museum is small but filled with fascinating pieces of Kauaian history. The museum also hosts cultural festivals throughout the year.

If you want to learn about Kuaui history, this is the place to start. Small and well-kept, the exhibits are very well-done and informative. Your ticket is good for a week, so no need to rush.
