Longing for the cat you left at home? Don't miss Lanai`s open-air sanctuary, a happy haven for spayed and neutered cats. Imagine a large playground in paradise, where cats romp and play in Hawaii's sunshine, and snooze under shady trees. Purring cats of all shapes and sizes eagerly await your visit. Our caregivers, who joyfully care for the cats, would love to meet you too. If you're interested in adopting a cat, we love matchmaking!

Something that's different while visiting Hawaii (mostly Maui). It's very relaxing and rewarding. From Maui, take the ferry and shuttle to the Cat Sanctuary. It's a volunteer program to relax with 540 cats while petting and feeding them. Just 3 hours and it feels like...More

I love cats and help with spay neuter release programs whenever I can, wherever I find myself. This sanctuary is a shining example of a caring compassionate and effective local charity!

Even if you don't particularly like cats, this is a really special place to visit. We were told that they had 535 cats in residence on the day we visited. Not surprisingly, the bird population on Lanai is robust. Much more so than on the...More

We had a wonderful time passing out treats and loving on the cats. It was a well-run place that obviously provides much-needed love to lots of kitties!

I have to admit I was expecting to pet some lions, but 470 lovely, tame and attention-hungry cats were just as good. The cats are de-wormed, de-fleaed, vaccinated and domesticated and are super cute... Worth a visit

When my husband and I visited Maui, I found the Cat Sanctuary on TripAdvisor. We love cats--and all animals--so booked a day trip through Lost on Lanai (see my review on them) to catch the passenger ferry to Lanai and transportation to the sanctuary. The...More

Aloha Luc, Greta question! We do have many many Lanai lions available for adoption. It's quite the process to send them out of state, so we don't have an adoption fee. All we ask is that you meet the cat and then cover the... More
