Worth a stop

If you are on the road to Hana make sure to stop here. It is similar to the black sand beaches on the Big Island but this area has several caves and a cool rock arch formation.

The best stop in the road to Hana. It was even free. This has the black sand beach and it was absolutely gorgeous. We picnicked here. Definitely worth the stop.

The beach is so beautiful and we took a picture in the cave and I got a little rock and it is black.

I would say this is one of the top 3 most beautiful places on the entire island. The contrast of Black Sand, Craggy Rocks and Lush Jungle Forest says it all! A couple of notes... 1. Homells to enhabit this area but they keep to themselves well. 2. Allow MORE time here. We did not. Don't miss a few hours... More

When you drive into this park you're going to think that it's a bust. The road is nothing but potholes and ruts and mud and you're thinking that for a state park, this is awful. Then you come to the parking, which is totally inadequate for the amount of cars that show up here on any given day. But after... More

We were so fortunate to rent Cabin #4, on our trip to Maui in December. It had the most beautiful view of the ocean, and the sound of the waves was an added bonus. The Cabin was clean and had all the kitchenware we needed, we just added groceries and bedding. The trail behind the cabin led us to amazing... More

Love the black sand beach, the views and the hike that leaves from the beach. They are in the process of making new steps to the beach but we were happy to introduce our children to this beach.

We enjoyed the black sand beach, the small cave on the beach, and the arch. We also walked up the coastline a bit and enjoyed watching the waves. There is also a new walkway down to the beach. The short walk to the princess caves was disappointing since the stagnant cave was open but the cave connected to other pools... More

This is a must see on the road to Hana even-though you are probably only a few minutes to Hana and pretty tired if you done a lot of other stops along the way. Here you'll find the Black Sand Beach, blow hole and cave. There are restrooms here.
