Spent a lot of time doing it (around 90 minutes) which could be well used elsewhere on stops doing the loop to... More

This is a must see and do activity if you are in Hana or on the road to Hanna. I don't think you'd experience a cave walk such as this anywhere else. The owner is super friendly and provides high quality flashlights for the walk through the cave. If you are adverse to cockroaches be advised that you'll encounter a... More

This was one of the most memorable stops on the Road to Hana. It is easy to miss and we had to turn around. It is a small opening on the inland side just past mile marker 23. Be sure to bring a small flashlight-do not rely on your phone-to get the full experience of the cave. It is only... More

The Hana Lava Tubes are truly amazing and fascinating to see and walk through. It is a must experience to at least see but enter and be consumed with the engineering feats of the volcano.

Stopped here when doing the road to Hana. Was amazing to experience and very educational. The terrain is not the best so walking shoes or sneakers are better than sandals/flip flops.

This is truly a unique experience and fun for the whole family. It's about an hour round trip down into one of many lava tubes (formed by lava flowing underground and boring a hole from the volcano to the beach). The tour is self-directed with extremely informative and sometimes funny signs. The front office gives you a flashlight. And unlike... More

This is a stop that I feel too many people pass by, but it is well worth taking the time to experience it. The guide here is such a great guy to talk to and shares everything about how the tube was formed and how he has cleaned it up to make it such an attractive spot to visit. There... More

Our family loved exploring the Hana Lava Tube. It was the highlight of our road to Hana trip! The owner was super-friendly and knowledgeable! The tunnel was bigger than we thought it would be. It is very well marked in the tunnel, and well maintained. I thought it was worth the drive and the small cost, considering the work that... More

Interesting but not really worth $12.50 per person. You descend down stairs into the lava tube and walk along the cave/tube about a quarter of a mile. Good marking of what you're seeing. Then turn around and return the way you came. Takes about 30 minutes.

We stopped because it was listed as one of the top 10 things to see on the road to Hana. We drove the road backwards so needed to be picky about where we stopped to be sure we were back on the main road before dark. Aside from my wife's trepidation about being underground we took the flashlights proffered and... More
