Drove the road to Hana and experienced every stop on the way. It took all day but it was a day well spent. Beautiful rainforest, amazing waterfalls. Bamboo mazes, black beaches, surfing beaches, natural water pools and scenery just plain breathtaking. Take the time to stop when ever you can as there is hidden gems everywhere. Pack lunches and snacks... More

This is a must do if you're in this area. We took it slow and enjoyed the drive down to Hana, stayed a few nights and then headed back up. Keep your eye out for places that you want to stop as it's hard to turn around and go back. Limited parking at each stop opportunity. We ended up only... More

While on a tour to the Road to Hana you drive by many beautiful stopping points and this is one for sure. The view of the ocean and beaches is fabulous. Recommend this site viewing area.

We stopped here and walked around. This was a great place to stop and take in the beauty of Hawaii. A lot of just beautiful sites to see.

This is a wonderful place to see the waves come into the black sand beaches. The views are endless and on a winding day the waves crash into the shoreline. It's fun and beautiful to watch.

Unless you only have 2 days on Maui, start early and drive to Hana. From Paia, it is about a 3 hour drive (if you do not stop). However there are sights to behold the entire trip. The road is difficult but as long as you do not do anything stupid, you should be ok. There are 600+ turns, some hairpin... More

I would not have guessed to find such fine work in this remote area. Alesiamae is the perfect gallery host. Exquisite woodworking, furniture, paintings and prints. I was especially drawn to Carla Crow's work. Turned out we live in the same Oregon city. Kismet happens in Hana.

I like to bring home local art, and this is the place to do it. We were treated with great respect and given meaningful attention by the shop keeper. I visited here 5 years ago, and found plumeria pendant w/ pearl for my sister-in-law, so this time I made sure we could return. I was hoping to find the same... More
