I hate giving a bad review, but I really think the company should know about our experience. The actual bike was fine and the company was professional, but our tour guide made the experience painful. He never stopped talking and just told one stupid joke after another. He wasted tons of time, especially when reviewing the guidelines. We had sunny... More

We did the Sunrise Tour with bike ride. Although a very early start, it was such a highlight for all of us. Well worth getting out of bed early. Make sure you have some warm clothes as it is very cold at the Summit waiting for the sunrise. Our guide bringing us back down on the bikes was fantastic, kept... More

My wife and I booked the mid-day downhill bike tour, and we're glad we did. This has been our favorite excursion so far, in the 11 days we have been in Hawaii so far. Tony and Dan are excellent guides, and do a great job of entertaining you with island history and jokes on the way up the hill, and... More

Get your ride in this year if possible because you may not be able to go next year on the downhill trip. We had a great time but I could not believe how short the ride was cut since my last ride. A great spiritual experience and the crew was fantastic.

The Good News: My best suggestion to anyone from the east coast, is to book this the day after you land in Maui. The 2AM arrival will help you adjust to Hawaii time zone. The tour is broken down into two parts. Haleakala summit and downhill bike ride. PACK WARM CLOTHES OR WEAR LAYERS. They give you gloves, windbreaker pants,... More

Highlights: Great 20 mins of the sunrise, we were there first so we had a great spot. Gear provided by MD was greatly appreciated! Doug was a great guide we learned a lot about the island and culture. Biking down in the fresh air Lowlights: You have to get up way early like 1:30 am to make time to pick... More

The company employees at Maui Downhill were courteous, informative and helpful. However the experience itself was a huge disappointment. We expect that would be the case, no matter which downhill bike company we had booked. We arrived at the shop at 2:45 AM, rode up to the crater and waited for 2 hours for the "orange, purple and hot pink... More

We were with a large corporate group, and that didn't matter at all!!! The Maui Downhill team were awesome! They were FUN, they were FUNNY, and you were comfortable knowing that they knew what they were doing. Even with some cars passing, we were always safe. And it was AMAZING!!! The view. The wind. The speed. It's a really unique... More

Been to Maui twice and decided to take an excursion at the last minute up to Halakeala crater. What a great trip, Stops were about the right amount of time. Incredible view opportunity at the top and enjoyed our guides, Billy and Alex. They did a great job of keeping us safe on our way down the mountain. Great food... More

On the positive side - the biking is great but is only ~45 minutes of what you actually do....the other 4 hours and 15 minutes is poor planning; terrible stories and jokes; and just a waste of time. When we arrived at the top of the mountain - it was almost an hour before we got on our bikes as... More
