The Kamaole Beach Park I (the first of the three Kamaole beaches) is an OK beach for families, small, with vegetation, but the waves are still a bit harsh for younger children. Take your food and drinks, since there is no place to buy them...More

Kama'ole Beach offers a great view even during a rain storm. The lifeguards had closed beach swimming due to high waves. We spent very little time on the beach but we ate our dinner sitting in the viewing area just thankful for our experience in...More

This is a long, gently sloping beach, similar to Kamaole Beach Park 2, to which it's connected by a nice walking path. It can get crowded, but not too crowded. Good for swimming and walking. There are shops nearby, as well as public facilities.

Kihei is more of a local Maui experience, great central location for all activities, but not as luxurious and vacation-touristy as Kaanapali. We loved the Hawaiian flair and comfortable options of Kaanapali, but usually end... More

Not sure. we were there for two weeks and saw small gatherings on the beach (Kam 1) on Sunday mornings. Not sure if they were spiritual gatherings or not. Sorry, could not be more helpful. ~Robbie
