Just north of the park area is a living reef that is a great place to snorkel. We were told by locals that The Westin Resort is one of the very few that takes care of the reef by controlling runoff which eventually kills the reef (as seen along much of the coast in front of resorts). The park has... More

We came to Kahekili Beach Park because it was easy and like ten minutes from where we were staying. You sort of pull up, park, and snorkel. And, like so many Maui beaches, there is a place to rent snorkels on the beach. First of all, the beach was totally obscured by condos behind it. However, eager to see a... More

We were looking for a relaxing afternoon to sun and do a bit of snorkeling and Kahekili Beach Park served our purpose well. After lunch on a picnic table, we hit the water. Snorkeling was not fantastic, but there was a nice variety of fish and kept us well entertained for a half hour or so. As people unfamiliar with... More

This beach was a great place to visit. North of Black Rock, with a nice parking lot, bathroom facilities. The boardwalk was closed off, which was unfortunate as my husband and I wanted to run along the beach but ended up having to weave our way though the other resorts. It did get us some hill workouts, though! The beach... More

We went here when it was raining so hard in the kapalua bay. It is only about 15min drive distance from the Kapalua bay yet this place had no signs of raining. It was sunny. Because the entrance to the water is sand, it makes it easy for nervous snorkel beginners to enter the water. I saw so many fish... More

Great facilities, bathroom, showers, nice grassy area, picnic area. Long spacious beach, plenty of room for everyone, great snorkelling close to beach, just go straight out. Not many parking spaces.

This was a cool beach, but I didn't feel like it stood out from most of the other Maui beaches we visited in any meaningful way. But, if you want a place to sit on the beach, soak up sun, and play in the water... this is as good of a place as any.

Are you sick of the resort towels and resort culture? This is a quick walk away from the resorts and worth it. We spotted great fish and marine life everyday (viability was an issue one day) so it was a frequent stop for us every day. It is not very crowded, everyone has different towels, locals were spotted (with their... More

A fabulous combo beach/park minutes from our condo. Give grassy area and known for excellent snorkeling which we can attest to. Bathrooms and foot shower and peaceful if you don't sit next to a large group. Highly recommended from best beaches near lahina.
