We had extra time before heading to the airport so we pulled in. We were able to watch whales out front and a beautiful rainbow to our left. The weather was very windy and a combination of drizzle and rain. We braved the elements as the sun went down and were treated to a beautiful sunset. We didn't see many... More

We planned our last night's departure from Lahaina to the Maui airport to include stopping at this scenic lookout point. We picked up shrimp tacos at Ono Taco's food truck in Lahaina and drove to Papawai Scenic Lookout, to eat in the car as we enjoyed the view. When the sun set was near, we got out of the car... More

An unspoilt piece of quiet sanctuary that affords good views, sandy beach with sheltered swimming if you're in the mood.

We like stopping here so we could take in the views. Six years ago we could see an abundance of whales from this lookout since it was during peak whale season. This time we didn't spot whales (yet) but we could see back toward Kihei where our rental condo was located. Looking over the ocean toward the close islands is... More

This is a pull out along the main why going in/out of Lahaina. It has great ocean views of Molikini, Kahoolawe, and Lana'i. We love trying to spot whales during whale season. Great for watching the sunset. Many times there are locals there selling things or offering to answer questions. Quick stop to take pictures or stay for sunset.

A small turnout off the highway, but well worth the stop with great views of Lanai and Kahoʻolawe. Can be quite windy at times so hang onto your hat. Great place to whale watch during the season. Informational signage is posted on the whales.

right on the coast this sits high enough to provide great views of the ocean and the neighboring island and apparently whales in the winter season. Well worth a stop but take xare exiting and entering as there is a busy traffic flow.

We stopped here on our final afternoon to get our last major view of the ocean. It was super windy! Overall the look out was awesome. Just wish we were there for whale season. Great stop!

I live in Lahaina, and I've stopped at this lookout several times. The last time was actually yesterday, to help my friends cut discarded fishing line off the reef, so marine animals won't get tangled in it. (These folks have been going into the water and retrieving line and weights in the area for months now, but yesterday was the... More
