It was tedious... Or to be nice, it was not what I was looking for. Modern interpretive dance and interpretation of the history of Hawaii. Complete with a character of a pig that acts rudely... Don't go if you want authentic Hawaiian culture, or good Hawaiian hula, or singing,,,,,

If you enjoy culture and interpretive dance, this is a good show to see. Knowing a little about the history of Hawaii helps the viewer understand the different parts of the show. The three musicians and the singers in the cast were amazing. If you really want to insure having tickets, order them ahead of your trip especially during summer... More

Local island theatre explains some of the Polynesian culture and Hawaiian history. Good costumes and set. Entertaining two hours.

What an amazing show. It is a story about the history of Hawaii. Costumes, dancing and singing were amazing. And you can't forget about the two musicians that contribute all the sound effects and music. We both highly recommend it.

It was great to see the theater fill to capacity, this is a favorite "show" of ours. There is a cd available of the music, which we play as we drive around the islands. Hawaiian myths, stories are told through traditional chants, songs and modern dance. It captivates the crowd; dramatic and exciting. Wash up from the beach, dress up... More

I am a dancer myself and was in a dance-theater troupe on the mainland, but mine was more of an amateur production. Still I recognize great stagecraft when I see it. Everything about this show is well done, from the use of props, lighting, LIVE music, singing, and creativity that went into this production. There is even aerial silks, incorporated... More

My wife and I won tickets to see this production. Even if I had paid for tickets, it would have been well worth the price. ʻUlalena’s storyline and characters centers around the island of Maui, and its creation, transformation and rebirth.

I had seen the show before, but was excited to take my daughter (teen). She was mesmerized by the beautiful music and dance, as well as I, even seeing the production before. This continues to be an excellent way to communicate Hawaiian history, and artistry. I would highly recommend the show to anyone interested in the culture and beauty of... More
