    Family Fun
Lots of family fun activities! We rode a tram, fed ducks, walk around art and gift shops, enjoyed fabulous food at the restaurant, and even saw a few geckos running about. The zipline looked fun, but we ran out of time. A great place visit on your Maui vacation!

    So fun!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Plantation. The grounds were beautiful, we enjoyed walking around while waiting for our tour to begin. And the tour was perfect, just the right length with a fun coconut husking demonstration along the way. I would highly recommend this tour if you are in need of a short activity (go early before it gets hot)!

    Amazing!
This was my husband and I’s first stop for our honeymoon and it was amazing. The tour guide was very funny and had a lot of information to share. As for the grounds, absolutely gorgeous. You can even buy feed from the store on site to feed to fish/ ducks, and the ducks will eat right from your hand!

Amazing Experience and beautiful gardens -- a great value
Compared to other tours on Maui, The Maui Tripical Plantation is an amazing value. The Plantation is a gorgeous setting for a restaurant. The kids loved feeding the ducks, turtles, and fish at the pond. We got to learn how tropical fruit grows -- the coconut husking demonstration was a hit! The on-site coffee roaster was so fun. This is a fantastic way to get a sense for Maui's robust agricultural offerings. Definitely a hidden gem.

    Worth it!
Our family booked the tour and all of us from multiple generations enjoyed the ride through the plantation and the surrounding countryside! The guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining as well as one of the farmers who works there and gave us some history. Everyone was passionate about their job and culture. Highly recommend!

Worth the time for you and your family.
It was short and sweet. I loved seeing the botanical gardens, fruit trees, and also the art and wood carvings. I loved our tour guide and her animated coconut husking. Humorous and informative. I also liked how the man selling jewelry suggested the kids stay in school and get an education. So human to human. It is the aloha and ohana that brings me back.

    Educational and fun
Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the young (native) lady who gave the tour. She was simply amazing. Not only passed she on all educational facts fluent and easy to understand, she presented it with fun and some underlining sweet jokes. Only a few of the train riders/tour takers tipped her, but it would be appreciated to do so. Worth every penny plus a tip! The store is wide and offers a great diversity of fresh products, jams, coffee, interesting utensils and local art. Deeply recommend.

Wonderful tour of exotic fruits and plants
We enjoyed this tour greatly! From seeing the pineapple growing to having the tour guide crack open a coconut, we had a great time. The grounds are beautiful and there is a huge gift shop/country store and coffee/drink shop. Mahalo!!!

    Fun at Maui tropical plantation
This was a trip highlight! The restaurant was 5 star delicious quality and the grounds of the plantation were a tropical paradise! The tram tour was fun and informative and the coconut husking demonstration and meeting Dale the artist at his sculpture studio were both so impressive! The grounds are beautiful and how they incorporated their history with the sugarcane mills was very memorable and moving. Do not miss! Our teenage boys loved it which is a testimonial in itself!!!!

    Fun and informative tour
We had a great time with our tour guide, Katherine. Enjoyed the opportunity to see and learn. Also enjoyed meeting the resident artist, Dale, and hearing his story (not to mention seeing his beautiful carvings).

This is a very average tour of a plantation. The plantation appears to have just token crops to support its main business of a tourist operation, rather than a real plantation running a tourist operation on the side. The tram tour is nothing wonderful in terms of either sights or information, with half the time attending a coconut husking demo (which if you visited any tropical island you will have seen before) and inspecting an art gallery making bronze statues). Unless you have never seen tropical plants before, this attraction is entirely missable.

Maui Tropical Plantation was recommended to us as a nice lunch stop on our drive back toward Lahaina from the north side of the island. We are so glad we stopped! The lunch at Cafe Ole was fantastic. The drinks were delicious and the views of the valley and mountains were beautiful. They have a nice gift shop and market and other buildings with crafts, a zip line and plantation tour. We didn't have time to fully explore but will be sure to stop again on our next trip to Maui.

The Maui Tropical Plantation is a small attraction in the area of the Maui airport. We went to see what it was all about. It had a small tram trip around the grounds and a coconut husking demo. Not the type of thing we would go out of our way again for.

We stopped here on our way to the airport and really wished we’d had more time! We took the Plantation Tour (40 minutes) and learned all about the agricultural history of Hawaii. There is also Ziplining, a few restaurants, and gift shops. It was a great way to explore the island beyond the beaches!

Looking for a break from the beach, we took the kids for a lovely and delicious lunch at the Cafe (reservations strongly recommended) and had a great time feeding baby ducks, watching turtles and night herons in the pond. The tram tour is relaxing and the best part is visiting Dale Zarrella’s incredible sculpture studio! Who knew a world-famous artist was working right here? Such a kind person, he took a moment to talk to everyone on the tour and answer questions about his work for the Vatican. Great for kids!

We really enjoyed our tour of the plantation. It was super neat learning about the Hawaiin plants. We did the last tour of the day, but by the time we got back, the market was closing in 10 minutes, so I wish we had more time there. Overall, it was an awesome time.

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. My 2 year old grandson loved the tram ride. Feeding the ducks and lunch at the Cafe. So did his mom and I. Feeding the ducks and fish were a hightlight for him. Unfortunately my grandson was running and tripped. He ended up with a "toddler fracture" on his left tibia which led to an unexpected ER visit and a full leg cast. Even so we will be back.

What could be more tantalizing - to see and taste a bounty of yummy tropical fruit in beautiful Maui!
While our tour was generally interesting, and the guide entertaining, we were disappointed that most of the tour time was spent at a coconut husking demonstration (when MTP does not actually grow any coconuts) and no samples were offered of Maui's tasty treats. We would have been happy to pay more to enjoy the flavours of Hawaii and not just have them pointed out in the distance.
