After a day or two in the artificial resort environment this was a refressing change. We had interesting and well priced food which is purchased from trucks and stands. There was music and a beer garden where you actually can talk to people! Agree with the post about styrofoam but the whole recycling system needs attention.

Loved this event.... friendly and really like the down to earth vibe of this small community. Lots of businesses and galleries were open. Chatted with a few friendly locals. The baked opakapaka price went up to $13 instead of the ten mentioned in an earlier review. Our only suggestion is ditch the environmentally nightmarish styrofoam containers for cardboard ones, please!... More

We really enjoy going to the Wailuku First Friday event. We like to go early to find parking around Wailuku town, then walk thru Central Ave where the road is closed to traffic. There are a lot of food booths and music entertainment which varies each month.

Each Friday there is a street fair in one of 4 locations, Kihei, Makawao, Lahaina and Wailuku. From experience Wailuku is the best one. Several blocks of Market St and the park by the Banyan tree are transformed in to food booths, jewelry vendors, bands and loads of people enjoying the night out. Unfortunately we bought some food that included... More

My wife and I drove all over Maui, trying to get a feel for the Island. We went to place after place and noticed that nothing looked like a "real town" where real people actually lived. Then someone suggested that we to to Iao State Park and see where the battle took place in which King Kamehameha I became head... More

We read an ad for this event, and drove over from Napili with some friends. It was really fun. Pretty much a street fair, but like nothing at home. Lots of locals of different nationalities, and their respective foods. People of all age groups, but not too many visitors. Great fun!!

Each first Friday starting at 5:30 pm you get to hit over a dozen food vendors to pick a few meals for that evening. Live local bands and plenty of gifted display to purchase from. December is the largest one each year with all the local Christmas gifts ready for your perusal. Set aside 2-3 hours to visit each spot.

Although it was raining, we stopped at the Wailuku First Friday for some food and beer. The food booths were fabulous. The music was also very good. We had a Kimche Hot Dog from a food truck that was very tasty. The Korean Hamburger from Fatt Girls booth was fantastic. They ran out of hamburgers with so much business. Also... More
