We stopped by here and were glad we did. Neat place with a unique history. It was a bit cloudy while we were there, which we found is common, but still very beautiful and enjoyable. The stair case up to the best view is pretty steep for some, but I was able to do it (with a neuro/balance disorder) with... More

Temporarily closed due to road and parking lot wash out from big storm. Amazing hike. Great stream to cool down. Check to be sure it has reopened before heading that way.

Grew up coming here often. Fresh water, hiking and important cultural information abound. The story of Iao Valley is unique, beautiful and, at times, dark. It is a huge part of Maui culture and history. If you keep it clean, don't litter and don't take more flowers than you need, then this place will continue to be a beautiful place... More

A Little piece of Hawaiian history. All it cost is a little walking and you get history and some the most scenic views on Maui

One of the coolest historical locations you will visit on Maui. Stunning natural beauty and an amazing story. Drive into the West Maui Mountains and see what Maui is all about. You can hike or stroll around the State Monument.

Visited in late June for my second visit. On my first visit 2 years ago, I stayed on the crowded cement path, it was nice but not really what I was looking for. There was a lot of people and I was looking for peace, quietness and a small family adventure. Since then, I searched the web and found that... More

This is a great park!!! However, due to the huge amount of rain last month it is closed (Over a million dollars of damage) thus there is no ETA as to when it will reopen.. However, when it does, it is a great place to hike.. **** Make sure that you find out the historical value of this area...

This is a nice park with an easy to walk path. The park is surrounded by mountains which are spectacular to see. There is lots of parking but go early as it tends to cloud over later in the day. You can also hike along the river if desired, but bring water, it can get hot.

Due to heavy rains that did considerable damage, the road and park are closed to all but local residents of the valley. There is a MPD officer at the junction 24/7 to prevent non-residents from entering. I talked to the officer on duty and he was saying at least another 2 months. This was on 10/23.
