We had done this once before years ago and it was much better. The horses this time seemed a bit tired. I felt really bad as my horse as well as a few others didnt want to run (they do let you run the horse twice ) and he seemed to be having issues with his back leg. Also last... More

Pretty, sweeping views. Decent trail ride. Be sure you're okay with sense of "heights" - there's a perfectly safe trail that you go down and the view is straight toward the ocean. I loved it, but a group member who hadn't been on horses too often got very nervous. Everyone survived and happy for the experience!

My husband and I enjoyed this trail ride very much. It starts out with a lot of downhill riding. Beautiful views of the coast. I was very comfortable in the saddle and the staff checked the saddles/stirrups at the start and before the gallop up the hill. More up and down riding than there is level riding but the staff... The horses appeared to be in good condition, which is key, though my horse, Blondie, did stop a number of times & I had to give him a good kick to get going. I've ridden since a kid so I had asked for an "intermediate" horse, as did Den. Our guide, Butch, said Blondie may have been tired from the... More

This was the best trail riding experience we have ever had on vacation. We booked a private ride for our family and it was worth every penny. Our guide was amazing. He taught us about the land and it's history. He gave us several opportunities to take photos. We got to trot and canter a few times... Even my inexperienced... More

The setting was gorgeous and ride was great. We originally booked the morning ride but had to switch to the afternoon and they accommodated us with no problem. They selected our horses based on our experience and size. We had the chance to get to know our horses in the coral while the others were getting set up. Destiny was... More

The horses were well trained and the staff were very experienced and personable. There is also an opportunity to gallop on this trail ride. The scenery was amazing and I even some some whales in the ocean. My horse was Frosty and I barely had to do anything, that how well trained Frosty was!

My daughter and I were able to enjoy the horseback ride today! What a fun experience this was! During our ride we were taken up and down a mountainside along the coastline. The views were amazing and we even got to see a couple of whales playing in the ocean! I think the highlight for my daughter and I was... More

Very beautiful and fun ride. The sisters we had we had were very knowledgeable and safety conscious. Probably the best pre ride safety and how to ride demonstration I have ever seen. Beautiful location and as we were riding we could see the whales jumping in the ocean. Can't get any better!

Kimo and the friendly staff at Mendes Ranch made this a safe and memorable day with horses, riding beautiful ocean front trails. The ranch is located at the head of a gorgeous canyon overlooking the beautiful sea. Lots of animals including peacocks, rabbits, cats as well as horses were there for the kids to see. Kimo and another cowboy put... More
