Peaceful and pretty, easy to walk, great for young children. You need to try at least once to appreciate a super experience. Look for a Japanese Zero plane that crashed just off the trail during the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941.

Perfect hike through the mountains. Mostly even terrain so not very strenuous. Very lovely views. Perfect for an afternoon getaway from all the traffic of the island. Bring some light snacks and water.

Not the most tropical hike in Hawaii but it's nice. This is a long hike that can get very slippery. We took our terrier who had a great time. It's about 2 1/2 hours around the loop. I recommend bringing a change of clothes and...More

An excellent, moderate hike through forest. A few very nice views as well. The crashed airplane fell further down the mountain as a result of storms and is no longer easily visible.

If you have a family and like to hike in tropical mountains, this could be a perfect day-trip outing. The loop trail is not strenuous but there is a slight mosquito peril. Expect greenery all around you. The kids can play on the "heau" that...More

Nice trail. I like that it is a loop rather than a down and back trail. It is pretty, and has a few really nice views. It is not a very difficult trail, but definitely has a lot of areas that roots and/or trees are...More

We loved this trail- very jungly and challenging especially at the end- which was our only criticism- trails are NOT well-marked and we got confused by the pink ribbons on the trees, and were not sure exactly how to stay on any "loop" so ended...More
