We took The Bus out here northeast of Honolulu.. This was one of our favorite places during our 3-week stay in Hawaii. During the afternoon, these large sea turtles swim onto the shore to sun themselves in the sand. This trek of the turtles usually...More

Great spot to see turtles up on the beach and in the shallows. There is a section of the beach where families were swimming but the highlight is the turtles.

This was a great opportunity to see turtles out of the water. The location is a little hard to find and there are no facilities at the beach.

Be sure to come by in afternoon as that seems to be turtle action - please don't touch these beautiful animals! Snorkeling here is great too.

Traffic and parking are awful. The locals hate the tourists who dart across the highway every which way causing traffic to back up in both directions! There are a few sleeping turtles from time to time, but nothing that fantastic to warrant risking your life...More

Went there twice while we were on Oahu and were rewarded both times with many turtles on the beach. It was about a hour drive from Honolulu and you know when you are getting close when you start to hit a traffic jam. It has...More

The turtle guardian said that the turtles are there year round but are more abundant on the beach in summer. The ocean there has high surfs and currents, and swimming there is not recommended. The volunteer said that... More

We went on a day tour that included this beach. We found it easier then having to hire a car and pay for parking.

Yes, they only ask that you observe at a comfortable distance and do not impede their direction. Enjoy, it was a very memorable experience.
