Great spot for anything! We came for snacks and a cocktail and beer. Excellent lobster roll, though it was my first so nothing to compare to, and the best clam chowder I've ever had. The whale lemon drop martini tastes like rainbow sherbet. Seems like the locals love this place. Great atmosphere and friendly service.

So here's the deal..... You go and put your name in because social media and word of mouth must have blown this place up. 40 minute wait.... So what, go shopping in the charming shops around this place and wait your turn. We had fried clams and fried haddock. Both were great and the cheapest meal we had in Bar... More

Family decided to do brunch after hearing the 945am Sunday mass. Thirsty Whale was supppsedly scheduled in my ITI as dinner, but since it opens at 11am, ive decided to bring the family check. To our delight service was quick, everybody loved their Clam Chowder soup, i liked their Haddock and kids really liked their lobster roll. Service was fast... More

Great place with an amazing local atmosphere! Place was packed even in the off season. Fruben was amazing as was the Fish Taco wrap. Both are not New England traditional, but well worth it. If busy, stick it out, the food is worth it!

They make a mean sustainable cheeseburger! The fresh Whale Salad easily fed the two of us. The staff are friendly! Full bar. Nice place.

After 10 hours of driving our motel recommended this for a light dinner. We had a short wait at 6:30pm and ordered the lobster corn chowder with 2 dinner rolls. The food was very good but it took 28 minutes to arrive which seemed excessive for soup. The place is not very big and I suspect our order got lost... More

This is your classic home town tavern. Service was good, and so was the food. The lobster roll here was highly recommended, and I definitely enjoyed mine.
