It is an expansive walkway along the waterfront with many things to see and do along the way. It is great for just walking or jogging as well.

As others have pointed out - not sure why this is even a Trip Advisor listing. This area is three miles long - maybe longer - and stretches from Fisherman's Wharf to near AT&T Park. There used to be a freeway here (eyesore) and was...More

The Embarcadero is long. It goes from Fishman's Wharf to ATT Park. If you walk along the bay side the sidewalks are very wide and very good for walking. There are many things to see and beautiful views, downtown and the Bay Bridge included. You...More

It is just a street. Not sure what all the hype is about. The electric bus goes pass this on the way to and from Castro and the ferry or wharf.

We walked part of the Embarcadero walkway on a warm sunny Saturday afternoon. We also took a taxi as the distance can be daunting in the heat. Traffic was heavy, speed was city regulated and there was a police presence. Streetcars are available.

Nice street but it is just a street. Lots of people around and a few street artists so a good place for a bit of people watching (around Pier 39). Nice place for a walk on a nice day but the further you go to...More

I really liked this area as we chose to come to SF from Burlingame on a daily basis, in order to park near the piers, however expensive the parking there can be (we paid 45 dollars one day!!!! for the whole day). The area is...More

This is a very nice walking route. Lots of people jogging too! The area is very clean and there is ample room for people travelling in both directions to exist in the space. There are various attractions along the way, as well as landscaped areas,...More

Take a walk along the Embarcadero. You can see lots of joggers and runners zooming by. The view of the water is beautiful. There is plenty of restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating. Enjoy!

Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but
can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s
version of Wall Street. The rush of business people
make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of
life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the
narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of
historic and contemporary architecture, including the
iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours,

We didn't find it necessary to have a rental car in the city. Taxis are very inexpensive and lots of public transport options. With cable cars it can be a bit tricky driving if you're not used to it. We hired a car for trips... More
