San Francisco is an old seafaring port. It only seems right that it would have a maritime Museum. I enjoy seeing the pictures of earlier times that tell the stories of early San Francisco. On a hot day it's a great place to get inside...More

Really interesting to see and read about the history regarding the great Steamer boats that transported literally 'everything' on the waves back in the 1800's over the surrounding waterways of SF before the Golden gate was built. Two 3 master sailing ships also to have...More

We kind of "stumbled across" this National Park while walking around the Fisherman's Wharf area. There is visitor's center a block up from the wharf, and then there are several ships and other displays down at the wharf. Both are well worth visiting. Not all...More

We came on an anniversary day and it was free entry, you could go on all of the ships and wander around. If you have any pirate lovers they would enjoy this. It's only a 1-2 hour activity but worth a look.

Very interesting and well doumented and displayed collectionof ships. The Americans might not have as long a heritage as teh UK but what they have, they display brilliantly.
