The bridge has many moods, and all of them are breathtakingly beautiful. When the fog comes in and half shrouds the span, when the sun is shining and the color glows against the blue sea, at night when it is illuminated against the dark Bay....More

Either walk or take the bus across the bridge. It's beautiful and you get to see downtown SF as well.

of course it's famous - but it's a busy bridge...if you drive over it you have to pay a toll, you can take a hop-on, hop-off bus which will take you over, let you take a view pics from the other side and then take...More

Cross it by bike or on foot for a full experience. Choose a clear day if you can and prefer the afternoon. We were here in May and it was windy and cold, so layer up. So many angles and views it´s enough to feel...More

I travel over the bridge often and never tire of the awesome view. On a clear day, either from the car, or on top of Mt Tam, the sailboats, Alcatraz, the city is a most beautiful sight! Like a picture postcard!

It is a nice monument, but I guess what makes it more attractive is the fact that this is an iconic thing for San Francisco, it's showing in any movie filmed in this place. There is a small parking right at the bridge, from where...More

We saw this bridge from nearly every angle possible. Underneath , on a boat, on top, drove over each way, then went to the other side and did the same. A beautiful sight with many views!

This is an unusual experience - if you like to walk. You can walk one way in about a hour, and will have unparelleled views of San Francisco, the Bay, Alcatraz, and Marin. It can be chilly or foggy - depending on the day, even...More

Does anyone know if I can use my iPass from Illinois in place of Fastrak, since it appears you can no longer pay cash to drive across the bridge? All I could find when searching online was a 2014 article saying iPass might soon be accepted in CA. Hoping to avoid the fees from the rental car company by having my own transponder. Thanks!

I can't answer your question re ipass but we had a rental and we phoned the number on the website and paid over the phone. You can also pay on line it just wouldn't take our card as it's from the UK.

Hi! We crossed the bridge and stopped on the other end when going on a tour to Sausalito and the Muir Woods. Check EXTRANOMICAL TOURS.

Hop on any of the bus tours and they will take you across the bridge. BE SURE you plan on weather changes! San Francisco is notorious for its micro-climates and those buses are open air. The hop-on-hop-off buses allow you to... More
