Whether you walk or drive, you have to see the Golden Gate Bridge. A lot of people walk or jog across the bridge with walkways provided for safety and others drive it. We had a sunroof and that made for great photos. Traffic can be heavy at times both walking and driving. The bridge offers beautiful and scenic views of... More

If the weather permits everyone should visit this bridge. It is immense! The bridge is over a mile each way and took us around 45 to go over, and 30 minutes to come back. It offers a stunning view across the bay to Alcatraz and the city so we stopped and took a lot of photos. Once over you are... More

I guess everybody visiting San Francisco for the first time will want to get up close to this iconic bridge...and will not be disappointed. Use Bus 28 from beyond Fisherman's Wharf. It is a breath-taking spectacle; especially the 'orange' colour against the blue of the sea & sky and the green of the headlands. Great piece of 'visible' engineering! It... More

A fascinating history on the building of the bridge is in the visitors centre & shop. You can then progress(walk) across the bridge if you wish.

Its a magnificent structure indeed and when you see it, the impact is great. However having seen other rope bridges you need to read bit of history to appreciate it fully. The era it was built, challenges to build and importance. The orange colour is appealing and understand it costs a fortune to maintain it. A walk on the bridge... More

My daughter and I were on a road trip, driving up the coast of California. We had done some research, and decided that we wanted to park on the north side of the bridge, Vista Point. We arrived about 1:00 pm or so, and didn't have any trouble finding a parking spot. Lots of people were out. It was the... More

I love cycling or walking over the Bridge and the large walkways on both sides make it easy and safe. Pretty from under the bridge also.

One of the must-do activities in San Francisco. It is a pleasant and unchallenging walk. It can be quite loud and a bit busy as the path has to accommodate both foot and bicycle traffic.

It was a windy September evening. The mist covering the ocean gave the bridge a heavenly look as if it is floating in clouds. A Must visit!

Orange is the new Grey and it is easier to see thru the fog. Another great thing to do in San Francisco.....yes, yes, yes,...dress warmly....listen to your mother. It can be windy and cold but it is an iconic walk just like the Brooklyn Bridge but with lots more car noise, psycho bike rides annoyed that they have to share... More
