You've got to see Lombard Street when you come to SF. No need to go on a guided tour though. We got an Uber and drove down it. There wasn't much of a line. Good fun.

Take a cab or your rental car and drive trough the street - its a kind of crazy and pretty at the same time. Enjoy 😉

Visited here in July this year. Took the hop on hop off bus, then walked for about five minutes to get to the bottom of this street. And that was it! The stairmaster can't compete with these steep streets! Couldn't make it up the street...More

A well known landmark in San Francisco. You need to say you have done it! Walk to the top is very tough so don’t bother if you’re not willing to do a very steep climb. I’m sure there are alternative ways to get the top...More

One of the famous roads in the world. You can drive there or even walk down and enjoy the turns. Pretty crowded place anyway.

I was expecting it to be something special but it was not. The traffic around Lombard Street was too much. There are no nice restaurants or boutiques on this street, basically nothing to do here.

I was told that this bit of Lombard Street is so windy-bendy because it’s such a steep downhill gradient as a safety measure. Walking down the scenic pedestrian stairs was a delight with good views of SF.

Its not that easy to find (signage just disappears) and it is just a crooked road. If you have seen it on TV then (unless you want to queue forever to drive down it) I wouldn't recommend bothering to visit

I personally found this over rated... I have travelled in himalayan towns and villages, they all are like this. It's just that it's maintained well in a city where are roads are straight and at length thus this one looks different, perceptions! :)

A very windy road down a very very steep hill. Nice gardens between the switchbacks. Worth looking at and you can get there using the tram.

Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential
neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner.
Combined with several great cafes, restaurants,
antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any
visitor would gladly leave their heart in San
Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down
Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world,
and make the slow creep downhill past charming period

There are plenty of tourist sites to see in SF and this is one of many to considered a site to see. Keep in mind we walked from Fisherman's Wharf and it was a hike up I think 5 or 6 steep blocks, the type of streets you see... More

Yes it is possible. There are sidewalks, but it will be hard, the hills are steep.
