Easy to get to with lots of shopping and food available. Street musicians entertain. Good place to take pictures.

As bays go, this is a pretty good one. It doesn't have a cool castle and huge tides, and it doesn't have a gazillion people and beautiful Japanese gardens nearby (wait...). But it does have some nice bridges and, recently, whales; so, that's cool. Don't...More

First time in San Francisco and we had a blast. So much to see and so. The charter tours were great and help you to see more and enjoy more.

Took a cruise of SF Bay, the line up was around 1 hour, but worth it. The view of the city is fantastic and the Golden Gate Bridge breathtaking. What a trill to go underneath the Bridge! Also seen the Alcatraz Island. This was a...More

We took several boat rides out into the bay during our stay and were stunned by the scenic beauty of the bay. The views of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, Humpback whales, porpoise and sharks were incredible. This is an attractive waterway with many recreational...More

We walked it, biked it, drove around and took a tour bus around it. The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the Bay Bridge draw your attention whenever you look out into the bay. Some areas are nicer than others of course, but on the whole,...More

This has some nice views - you can see Alcatraz Island, and most of the time unless the fog is in, across to Sausalito on the north end, and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge. Please don't feed the wildlife, especially the pigeons. There are...More

This is what you've traveled to SF to see. The Bay is a wonderful place to be near, or on, at any time of year.

Definitely take multiple days and do everything! We spent 2 full days. We needed a week. Don't miss the Electric Tour Company Segway Tour. I took my 13 & 15 year olds. They loves every minute of the tour and driving the segways. A big...More

I would vote for the East Bay as a base with sojourns into the City, but I would stay more on the Berkeley/Kensington/Solano side of things rather than Oakland. Weatherwise, fall and spring are the sunnier times for SF... More
