the "Italian" neighborhood which borders Chinatown, the financial district and close to Fisherman's wharf, and other good places. Great to walk, sample restaurants and bakeries, see historical places. A must for visitors.

You will find great Italian food all up and down Columbus. Our favorite is Mona Lisa. And, be sure to check out Molinari Delicatessen for an amazing selection meats and cheeses. We picked up some for a road-side picnic on the way home. YUM!

Not as great as New York's little Italy, but good for San Francisco. Great food and friendly people.

North Beach is a great spot for visitors. The main street, Columbus Avenue, runs right through North Beach, so it is easy to get here by car or bus. You will find Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 to the north. Chinatown borders the south. This...More

Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's
Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique
neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic
streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs
awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on
dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who
gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or
practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands,

I would suggest that you map out where you want to go. The Golden Gate Bridge is on the other end. The rest are close to North Beach.
