I was expecting a quaint area with delicious restaurants and places to get fabulous coffee. The buildings are run down, the streets dirty and would not go again. Molinari's Deli is ok but really only for tourists. The bread they use is not good for...More

We loved walking around the North Beach area. There are so many great restaurants, local bars, coffee shops, chocolate and other places to stop! It is a great area in San Francisco. There are a few hills but it is worth it! It is very...More

At 606 Broadway Ave in San Francisco stands a building with the most impressive mural I have ever seen. It was done in 1987 and called simply Jazz. It features three very famous jazz musicians. I was told, by my tour guide, that this type...More

Stayed on Nob Hill but went down to North Beach for dinner. So many "can't miss" Italian restaurants serving incredibly good cuisine you'll need to walk back uphill to shed some of the calories. Try Trattoria Contadina, you won't be sorry. Parking in this neighborhood...More

North Beach is rich with restaurants, and bars, shops gelato stores, divine chocolate stores, Pizza, coffee and the church where Joe DiMaggio married Marilyn Monroe. The famous Italian pottery store, Biordis, is changing owners- however the merchandise will still take your breath away. Look for...More

Went to the Pier and Wharf for a walk and had coffee and just looked about. North Beach kind of overlaps with Telegraph Hill, Russian Hill and Fisherman's Wharf, but it's somewhat casual once you get away from the attractions like the Wharf and Pier...More

Great place to get Italian food as there are quite a few restaurants to choose from and each looks unique. There are also a number of bakeries, cafes, and shops. It is worth taking a slow stroll up and down Columbus and looking in the...More

The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

I would suggest that you map out where you want to go. The Golden Gate Bridge is on the other end. The rest are close to North Beach.
