This place is beautiful. Apt for kids but the adults will also have a nice time here. The best part is the movie which they show at the Planetarium. It is completely breathtaking and I haven't seen anything like that before.

I had been a member of the Academy of Sciences for over 10 years when they closed down to move their location and update their facilities. I would go almost every other month as I absolutely loved the Morrison Planetarium and the shows. I thought...More

Such a great place to bring the kids, and anybody for that matter. What a show! Mind blowing and so entertaining and breath-taking, and that's just the start. Sit back, if you can, and enjoy!

We saw "Fragile Planet" at the planetarium during our visit to the California Academy of Sciences in early July. Another available show at the time was "Habitat Earth" but that one has far less (if any) astronomy. (When I visit a planetarium I was to...More

The place is very beautiful and modern, containing high technolgy HD projectors and nice chairs. We have watched LIFE: A COSMIC STORY and we fully became imersed on the video.

Interesting show about earthquakes in SF but nothing about the universe or planets - why not just explain more clearly what the show is about?

What a fantastic experience!!! The way they present at the morrison planetarium is of another world! I hope that one day all cinemas are like this, it would enhance films sooo much. My words of advice are to go to the ticket desk first thing...More

The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian

neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.
