This is a pretty area only a short (uphill) walk from Fisherman’s wharf past a couple of nice parks (Washington Square Park is in front of the wedding cake St Peter and Paul Church, the cathedral in the Sister Act films). You know when you...More

Although there are some nice pizza eateries (e.g. Tony's), I felt there were not a great deal of amenities in the area. Nonetheless, there were a lot of tourists about!

This is a nice little area in San Fran riddled with good restaurants, shops and even a couple of churches. It's a nice place to take a stroll and enjoy the picturesque and multicultural vibe the area gives out. The area also has a couple...More

Only a short walk from Pier 39, wander up the streets past little parks & explore this area, stop for a meal or at least a coffee

A fun shopping and dining neighborhood - as well as very historic. We just discovered the impressive and delilcious Z.Chocolat at 474 Columbus- the main street cutting through North Beach. Washingtom Square is the site a a number of street and art fairs. The Catholic...More

This part of San Francisco most resembles the place for which it's named. The restaurants and specialty shops really make you feel like you're in Italy. Parking is a NIGHTMARE. Take Uber. Restaurants are mostly good. Street performers are unique.

Great little area, denoted by Italian flags everywhere, apparently to let you know your not in Chinatown next door! We loved the Banksy mural and the books hanging in the air with the words on the pavement, to denote the internet, with the mural above....More

Certainly not a big or as famous as the NYC version, this Italian neighborhood still has something to offer. AS we approached Columbus from the Chinatown side, the oriental signage quickly changed to an Italian theme. Here you will find at least a dozen quaint...More

A long street in north beach with Italian restaurants and cafes. It’s next to many theaters and is near China town.

The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds
of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian
ristorante come together to create the charming
neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping
grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of
North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always
suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in
the city exude as much European charm and style.

I was talking about the neighborhood of little Italy, so it doesn't really have an "opening " time. I'm sure there are many restaurants that serve breakfast therefore probably fairly early.

Every restaurant in SF is BYOB but there is a corkage fee between $15.00 to $30.00. Check with the restaurant online through their website. If you want authentic Italian in North Beach try North Beach Restaurant. There... More
