It is still a breathtaking building, contrasting with other buildings of the SF skyline. I use it as my guide to keep from getting lost.

If you have time come check it out. It's just a building and I think bet viewed far away like from Treasure Island. It's no longer owned by The Transamerica Company but real estate people kept the name. There is a little shop inside that...More

I grew up seeing this US icon in so many movies, no wonder it became representative of SF but of any original building. Located in the financial city we passed this building almost on a daily basis as it is not far from the piers....More

This is an icon of San Francisco, and you can see it almost wherever you go. I believe the new SalesForce building is slated to be taller, although the Transamerica Pyramid will always be a part of San Francisco's history and skyline.

The Transamerica pyramid is an iconic SF symbol & part of the skyline. At the end of the day, it is a building and not necessarily a tourist attraction. The building can be seen from many vantage points throughout the city. The building is located...More

Merely a great looking building from which to take photos or add to your skyline of SF photos. Would look better with King Kong on it. Always impressive to walk around and get a handle on just how big it is. And to appreciate how...More

It's a cool looking building and it is pretty famous as the part of the skyline in San Francisco. But I went there and they don't seem to let you go around inside. So you can only take pictures of the outside.

Amazing architecture and great to use as a reference point, should you ever get lost. Its a shame they don't have an observation platform, though.

If you're in the area, stop over and check out the base of the pyramid. It's such a symbol from outside the city, but it's a nice perspective to be at the base of it.

Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but
can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s
version of Wall Street. The rush of business people
make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of
life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the
narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of
historic and contemporary architecture, including the
iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours,
