This is a twofer: historic spot with art and lovely scenery, and a more upscale priced restaurant and brewery. If you want to skip the pricier upstairs deal, there is a small snack bar downstairs and bathrooms open to the public. The attraction is the building and its interior paintings, which hail from the WPA and the Depression - really... More

In Town for a visit and we went here for some amazing dessert. We had the sand castle and tiramisu with some lovely coffee. THE views were wonderful of the heavy waves today.

There is some dope art in the lobby from the olden days of yore and restaurant food too. The food is run of the mill but solid.

Perfect toward sunset to sit by broad windows on upper floor, looking out at the churning lines of surf, Tasty food & tempting brews produced on site. Premier attraction the WPA murals at sea -level, with historical exhibits too introducing McClaren, the creator & defender of San Francisco's heritage parks.

Two locals had recommended Park Chalet rather than Beach Chalet, but on arrival we found that Park Chalet was booked out by a private party, so we went for Beach Chalet. Beach Chalet can accommodate over 200 diners, and it was almost full when we were there. It has brilliant views of beach and ocean from almost every table. However... More

The views are lovely. However, the food was just ok. The service was above average, but not excellent. I did not try their beer selection, but their bloody Mary’s were great. They need serious upgrades to the restrooms.

It was my daughter's birthday and we were in San Francisco together for the day. What better place for two Texas girls to dine than overlooking the Pacific Ocean! We got a seat by the window and started out with the beer sampler from their brewery -- we liked some more than others but they were all tasty in some... More

We got a recommendation to visit The Beach Chalet while on our long weekend getaway to San Francisco. Although we were told you don't need a reservation, we phoned for one, since we were dining on a Friday evening in August. So glad we did. We arrived at sunset with lots of beach bonfires blazing just across the road. The... More
