We visited the Legion of Honor Museum during the San Francisco portion our California Road trip. We were looking for an indoor activity for a dreary, rainy day. My daughter is interested in antiquities so we chose the Legion of Honor. It was easily accessed...More

The first thing to know is this museum is located in one of the more picturesque regions in San Francisco on sunny days. Surrounded by a golf course and the inlet to San Francisco Bay plus unique visuals of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Legion...More

We drove 1/2 hour from Fisherman's Wharf to this magnificent museum. The views are outstanding. This museum is doable in one day. The "special exhibit" was Degas, but we stuck to their permanent collection, which is outstanding. Rent the audio guide. A beautiful day!!!

It's. Eden there for a while so the crowds are not as bad as when it opened. I'd recommend during the week if that's an option. I was there in a Sunday and even then the crowds were not too bad. I'm guessing a weekday... More
