Walked on the promenade a couple of times during my visit, but my absolute favourite was at Sunset, with views of the Bridge in the background. You could walk or bike, sit at the beach or just people watch.

Nice area to walk and soak up the atmosphere of San Fran , stop at Ghirardelli for a ice cream sundae or fisherman Warf for a bowl of clam chowder. Make sure you take plenty of photos

Taking a stroll along the promenade is good walk and sight seeing opportunity. Watch the ferry traffic and the working tugs in the harbor take your time and enjoy the sights.

Past the Marina Green and the St. Francis Yacht Club is the 3 1/2 mile paved walkway know as the Golden Gate Promenade. One of the city's best places for walking, jogging or cycling, the path runs through the Presidio, along the edge of the...More

We rode across the Bridge which took us along Golden Gate Promenade and through the Marina District. Easily found restrooms before actually getting on the Bridge. Dress warmly - in August, I wore two shirts, a fleece jacket and a raincoat to cut the wind....More

On a sunny afternoon this is a wonderful area to walk or just sit and watch people go by. There are many dog walkers, cyclist, joggers or just strollers like us. We spent some happy times here during our stay in San Francisco.

Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.

There are a couple of parking lots in different areas along the bay, but I know for sure there is one where the parking is free. It isn't very big, so it fills up quickly, but it is free. It is right by Crissy Field and... More
