Have season tickets to SHN. Just saw Into The Woods. The seating is tight and not much airflow. Small seats both in size and legroom. Warm and stuffy. Bathrooms entirely insufficient for crowd. Women can wait up to half an hour in line. Missed some of play. May not renew based on this.

Beautiful , classy theatre that hosts wonderful productions through out the year. Just saw "Into the Woods" and it was dielightful. Note: can prepay wine/champagne during intermission ( 20 mins that goes by fast) and just walk up & its there with your name on it! Warning- bathroom lines LONG & most didn't have time.

Came here yesterday to watch Darren Criss in Hedwig and the Angry Inch which was certainly a 5 star performance coming from this talented actor. Loved that I got to see it in San Francisco as well which is by far one of my favorite cities. Golden Gate Theater is just about a 6 min walk from most of the... More

If you see a show there, here are the some things we found useful: --A very cost effective way to park is at the Mission Garage, on 5th and Mission. Walking to the show in the daylight isn't a problem and after the show, there's always a large group of us walking the the garage. --You're easily in walking distance... More

Enjoyed a first class production of The King and I here. The whole experience was a wonderful treat. Similar in style to the old London theatres with charm and reminicent of a bygone era. Seat were comfortable but as always long lines for loos at interval.

This is an older theatre and a neighborhood that needs help, but it is a classic. Four of us went to White Christmas. The seats were comfortable, the sight lines clear and the accoustics let us enjoy the performance. Being asked to go downstairs to use the restroom was a bit of an adventure but understandable. Lots of older patrons... More

The area where this is located had seen better days. We were advised not to walk to it and so we Ubered there. Once there it was busy enough that we felt safe enough but always uneasy. The theater is old and could do with an uplift. The production was good but not the caliber I would expect in a... More

Unfortunately, this is one of only two large theaters that present touring company productions of Broadway shows in San Francisco. The seats are on the old side. The restrooms, except for one handicapped room, are in the basement and are not large enough for the number of patrons. Worst, the theater is located in a very bad neighborhood. Be very... More

A nice place to visit. We saw a show (Cabaret) but the building itself was as much a pleasure. Good views from everywhere, affordable prices (especially for San Francisco) and very easy to get to. It's a few paces off Market and 6th Street, a block across from Mission, so plenty of bus routes go very close to it.

I saw Kinky Boots here and the theater is small enough that none of the seats are really bad. I was in the orchestra so not really sure about upstairs. The bathroom on the main floor is handicapped with one stall so you will have to go upstairs or downstairs to use the bathroom.
