Went on this tour because of reviews I saw on Trip Advisor. The reviews were so true. Cynthia was a great tour guide & we learned so much about Chinatown. Her Great Grandfather & Grandfather were instrumental in getting Chinatown started. She was very informative & we saw things we would never see on our own. I highly recommend this... More

We went on the China town walking tour,. Cynthia See was our hostess. She is very informative about the history and way of life in China Town before and after the 1906 earthquake and fire. She took our small group down the alley and into basements. We saw a fortune cookie machine and had tea. This is more a a... More

I booked this tour thinking this to be some exciting and thrilling tour by reading previous comments. I know this was not a ghost tour and only story telling tour where you'll listen to some interesting stories of how people died there but I was slightly disappointed as there was no thrill in story telling either

We took this tour last weekend and all of us in our group really enjoyed it. The stories were fascinating and at two separate points during the tour the street light flickered on and off the whole time we were listening to the history of people who had died in the building behind us (freaked me out). At one point... More

Our guide, Cynthia did a great job. She was born and raised in the area and shared with us great stories old and new. The tour is not "scary," but some of the stories are violent (as expected.) Interesting for all ages, except young children.

Stories were interesting, the tour guides, however, were not. This is not a ghost tour... If you can get past that, then it's fine. The best part of this tour was the popping noise makers that they have you. Just buy them at the store and save your money.

The tour was a mix of history and ghost stories. Although I was expecting more spooky stories, we really enjoyed the interesting history of China town. Not that we did not have a supernatural experience, because we did smell Lotus flowers in a haunted alley ( and believe me, the alleys did not have a pleasant smell) The tour also... More

We have been to many ghost tours, not only in the USA, but also in various other countries. My wife has a true interest in the supernatural, and we like a ghost tour which is sincere in it's pursuit of the unknown. This tour was a disappointment. It was more like a light-hearted local history walking tour of the area.... More

Cynthia is a wonderful, knowledgeable guide of the history of Chinatown. She took us on a walking tour of colorful streets lined with beautiful buildings, back alleys with an interesting history. She shared stories past down to her from her grandfather. Would highly recommend this!!

After shopping a bit in the oldest Chinatown in the US, we joined Cynthia the owner of the Ghost Tours for an enjoyable evening of walking the streets and colorful back alleyways of Chinatown. Cynthia did a nice job of filling us in on some ghost stories and common sightings, as well as a few tidbits of interesting history such... More

Neighbourhood Profile
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
