Golden Gate Park is loaded with little attractions that most people never see. This is one of them. This is the northernmost of the two windmills at the west end of GG Park and it comes complete with a lovely flower garden. Tulips just like Holland if you time it right, but beds of flowers always. And the groves of... More

It's quite a trek to the northwest corner of Golden Gate Park, even by car. Reading the reviews, I was really looking forward to seeing and photographing the tulips visitors had seen only a couple of weeks ago (since I still haven't made it to Keukenhof to see the tulips during its April-early May season.) There were a few Iceland... More

This was a fun visit! The tulips were in bloom and they had done an excellent job of cleaning the park up for spring. I took a friend there for the first time and they were very impressed. The tulips were gorgeous!

The Queen Wilhelmina Garden is located at the base of the northernmost Dutch windmill along Ocean Beach. The mostly tulip garden with other blooming flowers mixed in was surprisingly well frequented during my visit. There was tourist passing through taking pictures, others having a picnic, a few people painting and a surprising number of people passing through and playing some... More

This was a wonderful stop on our trek through the Golden Gate Park. It's just one of the many hidden gems that is free to the public. Clean, comfortable, and peaceful, this garden is a must see.

Lovely windmill and gardens but don't leave ANYTHING in your car. Broken window and bags gone in less than 10 min. Avoid parking next to the hedge.

Beautiful place to see flowers and a windmill. Great for a walk around or just sit on one of the benches. It could be a nice to bring a picnic lunch too.

The garden is dedicated to former Netherlands queen Whilamena, and it is beautiful. Parking at mid-morning on Sunday was no problem. Giant tulips were abundant and the windmill was fascinating. The flowers are beautiful and it's an amazing setting. A peaceful and relaxing place to visiit.

San Francisco Golden Gate Park has two windmills; the north windmill is in the Queen Wilhemina Garden. It is a small but delightful "locals" area of Golden Gate Park, although all can definitely visit. I could easily find free parking right beside the garden mid week. A mom and her toddler were having a good time playing hide and seek.... More

Stopped late Saturday afternoon to see this large Dutch windmill in the garden. There were many flowers blooming around the garden, which included red tulips. Very impressive windmill, suppose the season we visited is not a time for abundant flower blooms. Nevertheless, as Midwesterners, we appreciated the view along with the charm of the windmill. Nice photo shoot stop!
